CODECK — Card-Based Writing Platform

Role: UI/UX Design & Branding
Tools: Figma, Rive, React, Supabase
Team: 1 Designer, 2 Developers
Year: 2023

Overview

CODECK is a digital writing platform designed to help authors structure creativity through a modular, card-based system. Each card represents a story element, such as a scene, character, or location, allowing writers to visualize and organize their work dynamically while writing.

Process

As the lead and only designer, I was responsible for UI/UX design, concept development, and the entire visual identity, including the product name CODECK, derived from CODE, CODEX, and DECK, referring to the modular, card-based layout central to the platform.Starting from sketches and user research, I developed wireframes, user flows, and a comprehensive design system in Figma. We analyzed tools like Google Docs, Notion, and Scrivener, then refined our concept through interviews and feedback sessions. The interface prioritized clarity, hierarchy, and a seamless interplay between writing and card organization. A minimalist aesthetic and calm blue palette supported focus and flow throughout the user experience.

Outcome

The final prototype included a full editor with card integration, a landing page, login functionality, dark mode, and a scalable design system. Early user testing praised its intuitive structure and creative flexibility, highlighting how the card-based approach enhanced both organization and inspiration during the writing process.CODECK ultimately demonstrated how well-designed structure can empower creativity, offering writers both freedom and focus within a refined, distraction-free environment.

BABYSTEPS — Pregnancy & Childbirth Support App

Role: UI/UX Design & Branding
Tools: Figma
Team: 4 Designers
Year: 2023

OVERVIEW

Babysteps is a digital app designed to support individuals throughout pregnancy and childbirth, providing guidance, tools, and personalized experiences to make the journey as seamless and empowering as possible. I collaborated with a small team of digital designers to conceptualize and prototype the app, focusing on usability, accessibility, and emotional engagement.

Process

We began by mapping user needs and pain points, conducting research on common challenges during pregnancy and early parenthood. Using Figma, I developed user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that balanced educational content with intuitive navigation. Emphasis was placed on clear information hierarchy, calming visual design, and accessible interaction patterns to ensure a supportive user experience.Iterative testing with potential users helped refine features, including tracking tools, informative content sections, and motivational elements, ensuring the app was both practical and emotionally reassuring.

Outcome

The final Figma prototype showcased a clean, empathetic interface that enables users to navigate pregnancy milestones, monitor progress, and access guidance easily. Babysteps demonstrated how thoughtful design can merge functionality with emotional support, helping users feel confident and cared for during one of life’s most transformative experiences.
